As a member of Ascendum’s Application Development and Integration Solutions team, you will have opportunities to work on a cross-functional solution teams delivering turn-key custom applications to mid- to large corporations, as well as a professional services consultants facilitating project delivery and implementation of Fortune 500 and 1000 industry leaders in the development and enhancement of key business solutions. Ascendum practice members have developed and deployed a variety of Custom Applications and Integration solutions for leading banking, insurance, finance, education and technology corporations.
Client demand continues to drive our need to expand our Application Development and Integration Solutions Practices. Ascendum is seeking Consultants with varying levels of experience to participate in clients’ requirements analysis and definition; and design, development and deployment of web applications to meet their objectives.
Responsibilities:
·
Participate in client Analysis and Design review sessions
·
Document functional and technical specifications
·
Design, Develop, Test, and Debug custom solutions utilizing best practices in an Agile/Scrum SDLC
·
Create, track, and manage individual time estimates for development
·
Collaborate with other team members
·
Perform other duties as assigned
·
Participates on projects and other initiatives as requested
Requirements:
We are hiring consultants with experience in the following:
o
Comfortable in fast-paced, constantly moving project environment.
o
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new and changing technologies and problems.
o
Understanding of web design and development concepts, such as load balancing, state management, high availability architecture, N-tier architecture, secure coding practices, loose coupling, caching, logging and instrumentation.
o
Understanding of unit testing frameworks (such as NUnit) and experience writing unit tests to support automated regression testing.
o
Project experience with
ASP.Net 4.0
and
Visual Studio 2010
o
Project experience in .NET Framework:
§
.Net 4.0 Framework
§
ASP.Net, C#, Jquery, Linq
§
Preferred:
project experience with new .Net 4.0 features such as anonymous types, lambda expressions
o
Project experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008
§
Strong T-SQL experience
§
Preferred SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services experience
§
Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) experience and SQL Server Integration Services experience is a bonus
o
Project experience, and the ability to provide specific examples, with Software Design Patterns and Object Oriented Programming (OOP) including:

Model-View-Controller (MVC), Abstract Factory, Façade, Observer, etc.
o
Project experience with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Web Services and the ability to provide specific examples:
o
Experience integrating with 3
rd
party components and systems with .Net solutions
o
Preferred
: Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) experience
·
Preferred
o
Experience with project teams larger than 5 developers
o
Experience on multiple long term (6 months or greater) projects
o
Familiarity with Secure software development and OWASP.
o
Experience with high volume/high availability websites
o
Experience with software product development for commercial use (Software as a Service, Off the Shelf)
o
Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server
o
Current Microsoft Certification (MCPD 3.5/4.0 Web Developer)
